The woman behind me – A love letter

“I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.”-Mitch Albom

The older I get the more I realize how important my family is to me. And there is this one special person, the most beautiful woman (inside out outside) that I know. My mommy.

Sometimes we are so busy with our lives that we forget where we’re coming from and who made us the person that we are today.

The rest of this post is only in German because it’s especially for her.

//

Deine Stefanie

Can’t read German. but I wish a life full of bonding with women in and around you. There is a way in which only women can understand women – hope we all learn to celebrate it just the way you have learned.

  13. August 25, 2017 / 12:55 am

What a great topic. Although I cannot understand German I am sure the article is beautiful.

Good for you on recognizing the importance and value of a good mother! That means she taught you well and you are probably an exceptional young lady! 🙂 My youngest daughter, who is now a mommy of 3 little girls (8 months, almost 3 years, and almost 5 years old) now understands much better what is involved in being a mother. With age and experience, comes wisdom! 😉

Got so excited for this post until I saw the rest is in German.

  16. August 25, 2017 / 4:48 am

Oh wow! That’s so sweet and adorable. I agree though. It’s either the older we get, or when we have children ourselves that we realise how much our mothers mean to us

I lost my mother a year and a half ago. We were very close so I don’t feel like I missed any opportunities to tell her how much she means to me. It just still is hard to not have her. So enjoy every moment with your mom.

  25. August 25, 2017 / 5:09 pm

Your thoughts are beautiful. I lived the intro and the rest though in German makes its emotions felt.

  41. August 26, 2017 / 11:47 am

Maybe it comes with age, but I didn’t appreciate our family get-togethers as much as I do now. There’s really no substitute for family.

  42. August 26, 2017 / 2:17 pm

While I don’t know how to speak German but I bet this a heartwarming ode to your Mother. <3

  44. August 26, 2017 / 5:12 pm

So sweet of you my dear. At first glance I thought she was your sister or a best friend. Little did I realized it was your mom when I started reading your post. Indeed mom is really the first person to give us unconditional love.

  45. August 26, 2017 / 8:58 pm

Brilliant idea for a post ! It’s important to say how much you appreciate your Mum or how much she will always mean to you, For me, I would like to simply say: thank you mom for being my superhero, my expert-in-everything and my very best friend.

It’s wonderful when our children take the time out to commend us. Parenting is awesome and it’s a given we’ll give our all, but it’s nice to be recognized for it too. 🙂
